Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The manuscript is original and will be subject to plagiarism detection and AI-content integrity checks by the Journal.
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- The manuscript has been reviewed for language clarity and academic writing quality. Authors are encouraged to use professional editing tools (e.g., Paperpal) prior to submission.
- All submissions are subject to plagiarism detection and AI-content integrity checks as part of the Journal’s editorial process. The Journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward academic misconduct, including plagiarism, improper citation, data fabrication, and the inappropriate or undisclosed use of AI-generated content. Manuscripts that violate these standards may be rejected or retracted in accordance with the Journal’s editorial policies.
Author Guidelines
Desk Rejection Policy
The Journal of Human Police Policing Human Pty Ltd conducts an initial editorial screening (desk review) to ensure submissions meet its scope, academic quality, and ethical standards before peer review. Manuscripts may be desk-rejected without external review if they fall outside the Journal’s focus, lack scholarly rigor or originality, contain significant language or structural issues, fail to comply with author guidelines, or raise concerns regarding plagiarism, research integrity, or undisclosed use of AI-generated content. Desk rejection decisions are final at this stage; however, authors may revise and resubmit substantially improved manuscripts where appropriate.
